If I'm not in network with your insurance, you would pay me directly for the assessment. You may be able to receive some reimbursement for the assessment by submitting a detailed receipt or "Superbill" to your insurance company. However, I cannot guarantee that you will receive reimbursement.
These documents are usually the most helpful to bring:
-Previous psychological testing reports
-Medical records
-IEP paperwork
-Any personal notes
Also, psychological testing can take a few hours, so it may be helpful to bring a snack.
Initially, we will meet for a parent/ guardian interview for you to address your concerns and for me to get an idea of your child's needs and current functioning. Based on that information, I create a test battery to administer. From there, we schedule a date for testing (usually within the week). The duration of testing varies depending on the type and number of assessments given. I test in 2-3 hour increments and if more time is needed, we schedule another date within the next few days.
Within two weeks after testing, I meet with the parent(s)/ guardian(s) again for a feedback meeting. There, I provide test results and treatment recommendations. You will receive a finalized report within two weeks of this meeting. While this may seem like a lengthy process, I want to ensure that the testing process yields meaningful insights and appropriate recommendations for each child.
My self-pay rate is $150 per hour for comprehensive psychological testing. This process usually takes 8-10 hours to complete ($1,200- $1500) and includes the parent interview/ intake, testing sessions, scoring and interpretation, report writing, and the results meeting.
Psychological testing can be a big investment for some families. As such, I offer a 2-month payment plan upon request.
